The purpose of Mt. Zion Youth Sports shall be to further the education and citizenship of the young people of the Mt. Zion area; also, to further their training in sportsmanship like conduct through participation in organized sports.

Mt. Zion Youth Volleyball Farm League Rules

  1. Coaches and Assistant Coaches will be provided with the required skills and drills to use in practices. These should be regularly demonstrated at each practice.
  2. Practices and Scrimmages will be played with a volley-lite volleyball. Players are allowed to serve inside court. Coach’s discretion to move player back or in.  
  3. A team must have 5 players to begin the scrimmage. If your team does not have 5 players, teams may share players from other teams.
  4. League Scrimmage Play – Scrimmages will not be officially scored.
  5. Let Serve allowed - A ball that when served, hits the net and continues into the opponent's court. The Let Serve is a playable live ball in this league.
  6. Legal contact is a touch of the ball by a player's body above and including the waist, which does not allow the ball to visibly come to rest or involve prolonged contact with a player's body.
  7. Players will serves overhand only, from a comfortable range on the court. Serves may not be blocked (i.e. nothing above the head).
  8. A back-row player shall not participate in a block or an attempt to block.
  9. Touching the net and/or crossing the center line ends the play.
  10. Ceilings & Obstructions - The ball is still live on the teams side of the net if a player from that team hits an obstruction or ceiling. 
  12. A coin toss will decide which team takes the serve first.
  13. All players should rotate all positions.
  14. Teams should change sides at the end of each scrimmage set.
  15. Unsportsmanlike like conduct will not be tolerated and is grounds for dismissal from practices, scrimmages and facilities, if necessary.
  16. Once registration closes, players cannot switch teams or divisions without consent of a Volleyball Board Member.
  17. All teams are required to wear the league-sanctioned shirts, shorts and clean athletic shoes. Knee pads are optional.
  18. Water is the only beverage allowed in the Field House. Absolutely NO FOOD.
  19. Pick up all litter, water bottles and your belongings before leaving the premises.
